There has much said and written lately about living “green”. While this means many things to many people, it should be of great interest to artists and crafters who use a variety of chemicals and materials everyday that may be harmful at certain exposures. For those of you that are wondering what the facts are about these chemicals and wondering about the guidelines used to establish “acceptable” exposure, I am attaching an excellent article about this important subject.
Although this article was written some time ago, the guidelines for the ASTM codes that are mentioned are still the same today, and products have changed very little. There is a new code, ASTM D-2369, that designates products that are more eco-friendly. We are happy to report that all our products conform to this new rating.
I am convinced one of the reasons I developed a rare and aggressive cancer was from of years of exposure to certain substances and chemicals in my environment and workplace. I am equally convinced that the reason I stunned doctors by completely healing was because I cleaned up my environment and lifestyle. My reasoning tells me that because we live in a stressful world; anything we can do to relieve our bodies from the defensive work of interacting with volatile compounds and unfriendly chemicals is a great help in living more healthy and happy lives. Likewise, living more relaxed and creative contributes to health.
Eco Green Crafts is devoted to the health and well-being of others and the planet. I wish you all happy, healthy crafting! Enjoy the article.
